#AtoZBlogChallenge: Angels
A-Z Blog Challenge Topic: Angels
Angels are usually portrayed as good and kind entities, especially in Western culture. However, some stories have portray them as evil, bad or just not kind. Below are few examples of how angels are not portrayed as the good and kind entities:
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Anime)
In Neon Genesis Evangelion, Angels are hostile beings that are determined to destroy all human life.
In DN Angel, the character of Dark Mousy is a roguish thief with black angel wings and steals painting and hearts alike.
Doctor Who (TV Series)
In the BBC Series, Doctor Who, the Weeping Angels, are an ancient race of alien monsters that look like angel statues. These monsters can kill by sending their victims back through time. This allows them to feast on the energy of their unlived days.
Dogma (Movie)
In the 1999 movie, Dogma, by Kevin Smith. Ben Afflick and Matt Damon play two renegade angels that want to get back into heaven, but need to destroy creation in order to accomplish it!
Ooh you’ve picked out 2 of my favourites there, the Weeping Angels in Doctor Who are fantastic (I used to live in Cardiff so I love spotting Dr Who locations!) and Dogma – great film! I don’t know about the others, but great first post with a twist 🙂 i have some cool blogs in my first 5 after mine in the sign up list xx

Curling Stones for Lego People
Love Doctor Who. Great choice.
The Prophecy movies starring Christopher Walken. The angels are sort of split down the middle. Christopher Walken is not one of the good angels. He is jealous of humans and doesn’t understand why God loves them so much. He calls them mud eating monkeys or something similar. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the movie.
Angels, good choice! I haven’t watched Evangelion for ages – must get it out again! And who could forget Dr Who’s Weeping Angels…creepy as heck.
Interesting idea. The weeping angels are by far my favorite Dr Who villains! Dogma is a great movie. It’s the first Kevin Smith movie I ever saw and I liked it so much I had to go watch all his other movies. Happy A to Z blogging!
