#AtoZChallenge 2016 – Bushido Code

Welcome to Day 2 of the A to Z Blog Challenge and a topic related to the letter…
Today’s #AtoZBlogChallenge Topic: Bushido Code

Bushido in English snd Kanji characters

The Bushido code, pronounced ‘boo-shee-daw’, stresses “unquestioning loyalty and obedience and valuing honor above life.”

There are 8 virtues that are part of the Bushido Code:
I. Rectitude or Justice
II. Courage
III. Benevolence or Mercy
IV. Politeness
V. Honesty and Sincerity
VI. Honor
VII. Loyalty
VIII. Character and Self Control

These 8 virtues, practiced by characters called samurai warriors, can be seen in the following stories:

Samurai Champloo

Samurai Jack

Zatoichi the blind samuari

Rurouni Kenshin

The Shinsengumi as depicted in the manga

The Seven Samurai

The Last Samurai

Tom Cruise in The Last Samuari

So are you aware of any others that include characters who follow bushido code?

That’s an interesting code. I wonder if anyone actually ever lived up to it completely.
