I am so happy with the announcement of the official title of the next Star Wars film, The Force Awakens because it symbolizes the first step in the post production process.
Unlike many others in the fan community, I did not speculate on what the title should have been or what it should be. To me the title could mean many different things and I cannot wait to find out what it really means, when the film comes out in December 2015. Therefore, THIS fangirl is anxiously awaiting the official teaser trailer to find out more.
#AtoZBlogChallenge Topic: Umbrella Carrying Characters
Umbrellas are not an everyday accessory for most people. However, several characters can be seen carrying umbrellas regularly for one reason or another. Below are 10 characters who include an umbrella as a regular accessory:
#AtoZBlogChallenge: Princess Mononoke
Today, I thought I would highlight one of my husband’s favorite Hayao Miyazaki animated films, Princess Mononoke, per his request.
Set in medieval Japan, Miyazaki’s original story envisions a struggle between nature and man. The march of technology, embodied in the dark iron forges of the ambitious Tatara clan, threatens the natural forces explicit in the benevolent Great God of the Forest and the wide-eyed, spectral spirits he protects. When Ashitaka, a young warrior from a remote, and endangered, village clan, kills a ravenous, boar-like monster, he discovers the beast is in fact an infectious “demon god,” transformed by human anger. Ashitaka’s quest to solve the beast’s fatal curse brings him into the midst of human political intrigues as well as the more crucial battle between man and nature.
What I find the most interesting about this film is not only is an epic fantasy story, with interesting characters and scenery, but it also seamlessly integrates hand-drawn cels with computer-generated images, which created a new standard of visual storytelling.

Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket
A high school boy, who has a family curse, that turns him into a cat whenever he is hugged by a member of the opposite gender.
First introduced in the series in her black cat form, Yoriuichi acts as an adviser and guide to the main characters.
A cat creature in the shape of a bus that helps Totoro find a lost girl in the forest.
Happy is a blue cat looking creature who is a member of the Fairy Tail Guild and is the partner of Natsu and Lucy.
A-Z Blog Challenge Topic: Angels
Angels are usually portrayed as good and kind entities, especially in Western culture. However, some stories have portray them as evil, bad or just not kind. Below are few examples of how angels are not portrayed as the good and kind entities:
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Anime)
In DN Angel, the character of Dark Mousy is a roguish thief with black angel wings and steals painting and hearts alike.
Doctor Who (TV Series)
In the BBC Series, Doctor Who, the Weeping Angels, are an ancient race of alien monsters that look like angel statues. These monsters can kill by sending their victims back through time. This allows them to feast on the energy of their unlived days.
In the 1999 movie, Dogma, by Kevin Smith. Ben Afflick and Matt Damon play two renegade angels that want to get back into heaven, but need to destroy creation in order to accomplish it!
As you can see there are some awesome women in that Galaxy, Far, Far Away including Leia, Ventress and of course Ahsoka!
This fangirl is hoping that the next Star Wars films, TV, etc will feature many more of these women role models!
Again, Happy Galactic Women’s Day and remember the Force will be with you always!!!
